Finita la commedia? 2018

The Festival of the Italian comedy is back. The selection of films offers an opportunity to see, for the first time (or revisit), three Ettore Scola masterpieces (two of which will be shown in 4K) and to appreciate some of the most successful examples of current comedies based on salient aspects of contemporary Italian society.

E’ finita la Commedia? Italian comedy Festival in Israel is a cultural event organized by the Italian Cultural Institutes of Tel Aviv and Haifa and the Cultural Association ADAMAS (Italy-Israel), under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Israel, in collaboration with the Cinematheques of Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jerusalem, Holon, Herzliya and Sderot, and with Cineteca Nazionale di Roma and Cinecitta Luce.

Wife & Husband

Little Tito and the Aliens

Five penniless Italians receive an offer to take part in a movie filmed in Armenia. Upon their arrival a war breaks out, the producer disappears, and they are left trapped in their hotel. Perhaps the depth of despair will be the starting point for achieving happiness.

Federico Fellini and Ettore Scola met as young directors and formed a friendship. Now, more than 60 years on, Scola describes his meeting and friendship with the great director Fellini. This is a loving, magical film that pays tribute to cinema in general and to Fellini in particular.
