Prague, 1968, in the days of the Soviet invasion. A theatre group is rehearsing a play about a journalist and resistance member during the Nazi occupation. Following, they cheerfully gather for a drink, only to be interrupted by a drunken Soviet officer. He makes a pass on one of the women and puts a gun on the table. Anyone with some theater knowledge understands what happens between the first and third act. With a narrative structure reminiscent of Lubitsch's To Be or Not To Be. Occupation triumphantly reconstructs the cynical and witty tone of Czech cinema of the 1960s.
