Siberiade

USSR 1979 | 190 minutes | Russian | Hebrew subtitles

The Ustyuzhanins are a family of foresters and cattle breeders. The Solomin family is in trade. The two families occupy a small Siberian village, and the film follows them for 60 years - from the beginning of the twentieth century in pre-revolutionary Siberia, through the civil war, the days of communism, from WWII to the mid-sixties. This is a dramatic historical epic that captures ideological and human upheavals, and the result has a significant emotional dimension.
