The Silence

Iran, France 1998 | 76 minutes | Tajik | Hebrew subtitles

Khorshid is a 10-year-old blind boy from a small town in Tajikistan. He gets along primarily relying on his hearing, and his world is a rich aural mosaic. Makhmalbaf's camera follows the young protagonist through his daily routine and weaves a kind of magic spell with his serenely beautiful images and interesting use of sound.
