Milos Forman’s debut feature is a combination of two short films. The first presents a competition for wind instrument orchestras interrupted by a bike race. The second describes the young musicians’ auditions. Forman offers a viewpoint that combines irony and compassion and which may express criticism of the Communist authorities.
A story of first love, between a blonde worker from a small town and a pianist from Prague who visits the place. A humane film that is inspired by Cineיma verite.
