After serving a five-year prison sentence, Iván Bilbao returns to his hometown and family. In his attempt to rehabilitate his life, he returns to his career as a boxer and his livelihood as a pawnbroker. Iván has to find his way between his tender relationship with his wife and children and the street and authorities waiting to see where he is headed. A special bond was formed between the director Pedro Speroni and Iván when he visited a family member in the prison where Iván was a prisoner. This familiarity allowed Speroni unmediated contact with the family, offering the audience easy access to the domestic dynamics and an intimate closeness to the characters.
