Blow for Blow completes Marin Karmitz's political trilogy exploring the profound social changes France experienced since the 19th century to a society embedded within global capitalism, all in a short timeframe. The film revolves around the gradual outbreak of workers' violence - the strike that turns into a long-term takeover of the factory where they are employed. Marin Karmitz produced the film as a collective work in partnership with dozens of his participants, most of them non-professional actors, and the naturalistic result is reminiscent of a documentary in style.
