The Lady from Shanghai

USA 1948 | 87 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

Michael O'Hara saves a beautiful young woman from a mugging in Central Park and joins the woman and her husband, an older and frail lawyer, on a yacht setting to San Fransisco. While Michael believes the woman and he are falling in love, he receives an immoral offer from the husband's partner. As the cruise closes on its destination, the atmosphere becomes denser and more violent. A twisted film noir that demonstrates Welles' talent for creating atmosphere, with a final scene that is considered one of the pinnacles of cinema.
