Twelve-year-old Georgie lives by herself in one of London's less glamorous suburbs. She supports herself by stealing and trading bicycles, along with her best friend Ali. When Jason, an imperfect young man who claims to be her father, enters her life, the two have to get accustom to each other and see if life as a family is possible. Scrapper is a tender and poignant drama that manages to move on several levels: the relationships between the characters, the inner world of the heroine, and the way reality is perceived through her eyes and through our eyes. "Scrapper is a solar system of a film, with Campbell’s playful and defiant Georgie shining bright at its centre. You’ll not find many characters this year quite as likeable" (Independent).
