Saturday Night Fever

USA 1977 | 118 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

Tony Manero is a young Italian-American man aspires to get out of the depressing path life has posed for him. He has a talent for dancing and on the disco floor, he knows how to move in a way that captures the eye and the heart. Saturday Night Fever was a hit during the peak years of disco. In retrospect, this is a somewhat strange film with a stuttering plot and uneven cinematography. Nevertheless, it is clear what gives the film its energy: the Bee Gees hit soundtrack and John Travolta's magnetic presence. Whether he is in a white suit or in his underwear in front of the mirror - the camera seizes him, and his natural charisma is enthralling.
