All That Jazz

USA 1979 | 122 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

Joe Gideon lives his life to the fullest as a demanding director invested in several projects and chasing one woman after the other. Following the success of Cabaret, Bob Fosse perfected his cinematic style and flexibly moves between the various plotlines and consciousness: memories, visions, everyday life, with a compacted musical soundtrack allowing him to cut between these freely. Roy Scheider, in a role that defined his career, brings his whole persona to the screen: a determined and intimidating alpha male whose potency and arrogance the film challenges. The result, which certainly has autobiographical aromas, is a cinematic, fast-paced, and immersive spectacle that stands the test of time.
