What About China?

Director and cultural scholar, Trinh Minh-ha, reflects on excerpts she filmed in villages in Eastern and Southern China in the first half of the 1990s'. During this reflective move, the director uses image and sound to decipher the window of time when China is further open to the world, but is still a traditional rural society. Considerable parts take place within a wonderful architectural structure (The Fujian tulou) that produces community life and sharing, an area that, over time, has become a tourist site.
