The city of Tolyatti, on the banks of the Volga River, was once the symbol of socialist progress and pride but, degenerated and frozen in time, today it is considered the Russian Detroit. Its USSR-era-built car industry is the largest employment place, but now it is slowly collapsing, bringing with it the highest rate of youngsters unemployment in Russia. The film follows a group that rescues iconic old Lada cars from the local factory and turns them into a means of rebelliousness and expression that explores the conflicts and dreams of the youth in one of the poorest cities in Russia.
