The Outsiders

USA 1983 | 114 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

Based on the popular novel by S.E. Hinton, the plot centers on the battle between two gangs of youths, the "Greasers" - working-class kids who admire Elvis, Marlon Brando, and James Dean - and the "Socs", idolizing Pat Boon and Frank Sinatra. Based on this plot, Coppola creates a stylized but sensitive film that also introduced many of the new young Hollywood stars of the early 1980s. This is "The Complete Novel" version of the film that is 30 minutes longer than the original theatrical cut.
