Mikey Saber, a wildly narcissistic former porn star, falls on hard times and reluctantly moves back to his hometown in Texas. The small-town folks are less than thrilled with his return, but with hard work and a dab of personal charm, Mikey manages to reinsert himself in the life of his estranged wife. Just as life seems to have returned to normal, he meets a beautiful young woman that will do anything for him. Could she be his ticket back to porn? But at what price? Sean Baker is one of the most intriguing voices in American cinema. As in his previous work (Tangerine, Florida Project), he sets his camera on the margins of society and finds there, with all its fury and filth, much beauty and love. Baker's talent lies in his ability to present his protagonists as they are, with no judgment, and with great sympathy present excellent portraits of America.
