The Shawshank Redemption

Andy is sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife and her lover. He meets Red, also convicted for murder. The story is told by the old-timer who observes Andy through the years. Based on a short story by Stephen King, Frank Darabont presents an intelligent and ironic film. With an abundance of warm moments and a plot that eludes all clichés of the genre, this is a humane work that brilliantly plays on the heartstrings.
