Somewhere Barbra Streisand

France 1990 | 55 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

An exceptionally talented American singer and actress by instinct, Barbra Streisand became famous by acting in 1961 in a Broadway musical, "I Can Get It for You Wholesale." From then on she became the subject of tremendous publicity (television, records, etc…). In 1968, the release in New York and then London of Funny Girl, for which she won an Oscar, propelled her to the status of an internationally renowned actress. The film follows her career using testimonies made by herself and interviews with those who has been around: Michel Legrand, Gregory Peck, Jane Fonda and excerpts from musicals (Yentl, Funny Girl, and more).
