Makio Kodai, a reserved 35-year-old writer, takes her 15-year-old niece Takumi in after the sudden death of her parents. Though Makio had little connection with her late sister, she finds herself forming a deep bond with Takumi, a lively and outgoing girl who is her complete opposite.
