The Magnificent Ambersons

Orson Welles examines the process of the collapse of the aristocratic families in the USA in the face of the accelerated process of industrialization at the beginning of the century. The plot takes place in a typical northern town under the control of the Ambersons family. When the daughter of an inventor, who returned to the town, captures the attention of George Ambersons, the pace of the events leading up to the climax accelerates - the final disintegration of the Ambersons family and the transformation of their home into a haunted castle.
