An American in Rome

Italy 1954 | 90 minutes | Italian | Hebrew subtitles

A young Roman is itching to move to America. He puts together a jazz band and peppers his Italian with Americanisms, but this doesn't stop the Germans from sending him to a prison camp. And when the Americans liberate Rome, his condition doesn't improve. A wild and ironic comedy from the golden age of Italian movie comedies. The wonderful Alberto Sordi gracefully slides into the lead role, and the result is well-paced and entertaining.
