23-year-old Philip escapes Poland, where his whole family was detained. With fluent French and forged documents, Philip finds work in an exclusive hotel that acts as the stronghold of the Nazi party. He is no longer able to feel anything beyond the yearning for revenge. Between luxurious meals, champagne on the poolside, and balls, he takes revenge on the party leaders by seducing their wives, but his world continues to crack and collapse like a house of cards. Philip is an elegant and fast-paced drama that presents this part of the War as a brutal social game. Thanks to the cinematic refinement and Eryk Kulm's frosty performance, the result is worthy of attention.
