Professor Higgins, a respectable gentleman, takes on as a project Eliza Doolittle, a crude flower girl, teaching her the proper way to speak English and to become a Lady. George Cukor directed and Audrey Hepburn stars as Eliza in a musical adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion. The film won eight Oscars, including Best Picture, and for good reason. The pulsating design and costumes, the spectacular colors, the spirited performances, the soundtrack that includes the unforgettable songs The Rain in Spain, On the Street Where You Live, and of course, I Could Have Danced All Night, made My Fair Lady one of the favorite musicals of all time, a vibrant and delightful cinematic experience, a classic that should be seen on the big screen.
