After a botched job, two Irish hit-men are sent to Bruges until things at home cool off. Ray is young, inexperienced, and hot-headed, while experienced Ken has nerves of steel. Waiting for the boss to arrive from Dublin, the two will meet some local characters and discover that they haven’t escaped all their problems. Martin MacDonagh fashions his characters using little dialogue, and elegantly combines dark humor and sentimentality, all within the mold of a thriller. The talented cast more than does justice to his lines.
