Leave No Traces

Poland, France, Czech Republic 2021 | 160 minutes | Polish | Hebrew subtitles

Poland, 1983. The state is in turmoil over the death of Grzegorz Przemyk, son of the opposition poet Barbara Sadowska, at the hands of a police patrol. The only witness to the brutal incident is Grzegorz's friend, Jurek Popiel, who is determined to fight. Initially, the state apparatus downplays the case. However, when over twenty thousand people march through the streets of Warsaw behind Przemyk's coffin, the authorities decide to use any tools available to prevent Jurek from testifying in court. Leave No Traces is a mesmerizing and powerful drama that delivers the spirit of the period and deals with the human price of doing the right thing.
