The Widow Couderc

Between the two world wars, in a village in France, an escaped convict finds shelter in the house and heart of a widow. With its two stars and the use of a simple and efficient cinematic language, the film conveys the rural atmosphere and the evil spirits that blow through it with the arrival of the stranger.
