A Fortunate Man

Per, a talented young engineering student, rejects his strict Lutheran upbringing in the Danish countryside for Copenhagen’s metropolis of the 1880s. He is welcomed by a wealthy Jewish family and secures their patronage, as well as the love of their eldest daughter, the beautiful Jacobe. One would imagine that Per’s happiness is now made, but his childhood keeps haunting him and his dogmatic family cannot accept his new life and inclinations toward the Jewish tradition.
