The new, heartwarming dramedy by actress-turned-director Lorene Scafaria (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World) brings the story of an optimistic widow who moves next to her single daughter after the death of her husband. The onslaught of motherly love becomes a bit much for the daughter who is struggling to finish a screenplay but when her social circle is on the line, she is forced to lay down the law with the one who loves her most. Susan Sarandon delivers a witty, vivacious performance as the mother, leading a terrific cast which includes Rose Byrne and JK Simmons in a film that had won over both Toronto and Tribeca about a mutually meddlesome mother-daughter relationship.
