Actor director Konstantin Khabenskiy presents us with a grandiose production from Russia, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Sobibor camp uprising. Sobibor was one of the four concentration camps in WW2 Poland; prisoners were separated upon arrival, and deemed either fit or unfit for work. With nothing to lose, the camp’s prisoners - led by Alexander Pechersky (played by Konstantin Khabenskiy), carried out the only successful revolt in the history of the death camps. Based on factual events, this dramatic film tells an extraordinary true story of heroism and resistance of the human spirit. Selected as Russia’s entry to the 2018 Academy Awards Foreign Language category.
