I'm Still Here

When Rubens Paiva, a leftist, is arrested by the military junta in Brazil in the early 1970s, his wife Eunice must take on the responsibility of caring for the family while navigating the tension between parental duties and her public struggle for her husband's freedom and against the regime. The emotional power of I'm Still Here lies in its intimate portrayal of the challenges faced under an oppressive government, exploring the difficult choices necessary to maintain one’s humanity during and after such a regime.
