A conversation about fashion inspired by a collection of Israeli fashion film clips and newsreels from the Israel Film Archive at the Jerusalem Cinematheque.
How did fashion establish itself within Israeli identity? Where did the passion for style come from? Did the attitude toward style align with the country's foundational values, and how has this attitude evolved over the years?
In a discussion with the collection's editor, Shachar Atwan (researcher of visual culture, curator and artistic director, head of the master's program in Visual Literacy at the Kibbutzim College of Education), and Gili Izikovich, we'll examine these changes as part of the development of textile and design in Israel.
