The US has closed its borders. Simin, the daughter of Iranian exiles, works for the Census Bureau, where she is assigned to register citizen's dreams. What at first appears to be a whimsical mission, is revealed as a devious plot to control the populace. With generous vistas, characters that seem to have emerged out of a pulp thriller, an enigmatic plot that jumps between reality and imagination, and the elusive presence of Sheila Vand, Land of Dreams offers an intriguing exploration of identity, immigration, and freedom.
